Oppo and Vivo have been struggling to produce the perfect selfie phone, and that quest has led to many notable yet similar launches. Oppo F7 was launched bang after Vivo V9, and both of them have striking similarities in terms of display, hardware and performance. In this post, we will talk about the pros and cons of both, keeping specifications in mind.
Hardware, pricing and software
Oppo F7 price in India is ₹22,990, while Vivo has priced V9 at ₹23990. Vivo V9 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 Octa-core processor and F7 comes with 2.0 GHz octa-core MTK P60 processor. Both devices get 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB of internal memory, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. While these smartphones do get Android v8.1 (Oreo) out of the box, V9 uses Funtouch OS 4.0 skin of the brand and F7 uses ColorOS 5.0.
Camera and display
Selfie lovers will have a hard time choosing between both devices as far as the cameras are concerned. F7 comes with a 25MP shooter on the front and a 16MP shooter on the rear, while V9 gets a 24MP front camera and a dual camera (16MP+5MP) setup on the rear. Vivo might win the battle on paper, but Oppo F7 clicks crystal clear pictures even in low light and the rear camera isn’t bad on its own.
In terms of display, Vivo V9 has a 6.3-inch display, while F7 is slightly smaller with a 6.23-inch touchscreen. Resolution remains the same for both – 1080 x 2280 pixels. The difference isn’t much, but Vivo might have an edge here with 85.2% screen-to-body ratio. For F7, that’s 82.5% screen-to-body ratio. That doesn’t really impact the viewing angles or the beauty of either devices in anyway. There is also a slight difference in weight – V9 weighs 150 grams, while F7 weighs 158 grams.
In all fairness, selecting one between Vivo V9 and Oppo F7 will be hard. Oppo F7 has been getting rave reviews so far, but Vivo V9 is also meant for performance and will pick up. Both devices bring the new notch feature for the display.
If you want to get Oppo F7 or iPhone 7 32GB, check online stores now. You might get better deals and EMI options. As for comparing both devices, we might vote for F7, but Vivo fans will swear by V9 – It’s hard to compare at best.
